A desk for people who don't want a desk.

Every object, commitment, or open loop in your environment makes a tiny claim on your attention. Individually they’re negligible. Collectively they create what psychologists call cognitive load.

Imagine it like a background hum of unfinished business that quietly erodes your capacity to disconnect and be fully present.

Great design, is invisible until its needed.

The problem with putting an office desk in your home, is that it sits there in your living room, a quiet reminder of everything you could be doing, should be doing, haven’t finished doing.

With a DropTop, work has a place, and that place has boundaries.

If any external wires such as Ethernet are required, this compartment is your best friend. It allows for cables to feed from the outside in, without clashing with the wall or desk.

Plasterboard.

Our heavy-duty plasterboard fixings spread the load across a wider surface area, so you never need to worry about weight limits or hunting for a stud. Fixings and drill bits are included. Just drill, hang and enjoy.

Brick wall.

The most straightforward installation of all. Brick walls are solid, reliable, and DropTop goes straight in with no compromise. Everything from drill-bits, screws and wall plugs rated for the job is in the box.

Dot & dab.

These walls have a solid surface of block, brick, or concrete sitting directly behind the plasterboard. It's a simple, clean installation straight through into that solid backing, giving you a rock-solid mount. Everything you need, including drill bits, comes in the box.

Double plasterboard.

Two layers of plasterboard bonded together create a surprisingly solid wall and DropTop installs on them with ease. Our specialist fixings are biting firmly into the combined depth for a secure, no-compromise mount. Same simple process and everything included kit.

We could have made it cheaper. We chose not to.

The furniture industry has quietly normalised disposability. Buy it cheap, live with it for a few years, throw it away. The price is low because the lifespan is short, and someone else pays the difference.

Yes, making it ourselves in Britain is harder and costs more than importing containers of cheap flat-pack furniture from overseas, but it guarantees every DropTop looks gorgeous, functions flawlessly, and feels solid from the moment it arrives, and still feels that way decades from now.

What DropTop owners say.

It doesn't take over the space. It's there when I need it. And when I don't, it simply disappears.

I didn't think that folding it back into the wall would be such a meaningful thing.
Bennet L.

It folds away when guests stay and becomes part of the furniture like it was never there.

At any time I can fold it up and it becomes wall decor. People don't even know its a desk.
